The renery processes approximately 80% high-sulphur crude
and around 23% heavy/high TAN crude, achieving a distillate
yield of about 85%. It stands out with an annual fuel and loss rate
of around 7.5%–the lowest among all IndianOil Reneries–and
an Energy Intensity Index (EII) of approximately 85.5, a Solomon
Benchmarking parameter. Over the past 25 years, Panipat
Renery has achieved numerous milestones, including
diversication into petrochemicals, Catalyst Manufacturing Unit,
production of reference fuels and bio-renery, and pioneering
ethanol production from renery off-gases. Early stage of Panipat Renery construction
