Guwahati Refinery, Technology with Ecology at Heart
Together with Nature - Moving towards Growth
To prevent water pollution, a state-of-the-art Efuent Treatment
Plant (ETP) was commissioned in March 2007, ensuring that
treated efuent meets stringent industry norms. Utilizing
advanced technology, the ETP allows for the reuse of treated
water for various applications within the renery.
Efuent quality is continuously monitored through online
analyzers connected to the Central Pollution Control Board
(CPCB) and Pollution Control Board Assam (PCBA) servers. Air
quality is meticulously monitored with one Continuous Ambient
Air Monitoring Station and four xed stations, with data
transmitted to regulatory servers. Third-party agencies regularly
monitor both water and air quality.
Do You Know?
Guwahati Renery has an
additional ETP for treating
renery hospital waste water.
In 2019, a Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) recovery system
was added to further enhance environmental protection. Solid Do You Know?
waste management practices include processing oily sludge and
recovering slop oil. Over the past three years, more than 55,000 Guwahati Renery has
trees have been planted, with dense forests cultivated using the cultivated dense forests using

In addition to these efforts, the renery has installed solar Renery Eco-park
Photovoltaic (PV) systems, replaced conventional lighting with
energy-efcient LED lights, and adopted sustainable waste
processing methods.
