Bongaigaon Renery has emerged at the forefront amongst the Fuel Gas to utilize in gas turbine as fuel thereby saving

98% of treated efuent water is reused in the plants and for
horticulture, while the balance is used for groundwater recharge
and gardening. Hazardous wastes like slop oil are reprocessed,
oily sludge is processed to recover oil, and residual sludge is bio-
remediated for safe disposal.

Bongaigaon Renery has initiated several green initiatives,
which includes a regular tree plantation within and outside the
renery. The unit has also adopted the Miyawaki method for tree
plantation and maintains a 4.5-hectare Eco-park and a 1.84-
acre herbal and orchid garden named ‘Nandan Kanan.’
