Nascent Beginnings
               Early Days, Endless Possibilities



                    nown  as  the  "Gangotri  of  IndianOil,"  Guwahati  Renery
               Kholds the distinction of being the rst public sector renery in
               the country. It was dedicated to the nation by India’s rst Prime
               Minister on January 1, 1962, as a new year's gift.

               Originally  constructed  to  process  Upper  Assam  crude  oil
               delivered via an Oil India Ltd (OIL) pipeline from Naharkatiya,
               Assam, the renery has demonstrated remarkable adaptability
               to evolving supply dynamics. Since 2017, Guwahati Renery has
               incorporated  the  processing  of  low-sulphur  imported  crude,
               sourced from Barauni Renery through both rakes and pipelines.
               Initially set up with a capacity of 0.75 MMTPA, the renery has
               recently expanded its capacity from 1 MMTPA to 1.2 MMTPA.
               Situated in Noonmati, the renery is conveniently located near
               popular tourist destinations such as Kamakhya Temple, Pobitora
                                                                                             Gifted to the nation as a new year’s gift on January 01, 1962
               Wildlife Sanctuary, Cherrapunjee, and Kaziranga National Park,
                                                                                             by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India
               making it a signicant landmark in the region.
